Napili Beach

Beach Beauty

Getting Ready to go in the ocean

Playing on the beach

Mike took Levi in the ocean and the water was so clear that he could see the fish swimming around him. There was also a turtle but we're not sure if he saw that or not. He absolutly loved it!

Maui Ocean Center

This year since we brought both kids and wanted to find something fun for Levi to do besides play in the water we went to the Maui Ocean Center. Mike and I had never been before so it was a lot of fun. Next time we go to the aquarium though Mike would like to scuba dive in the shark tank instead of just watch someone else do it!

Levi cheesin' it up. Hard to tell if he was having fun or not.

Touching the starfish

This is, as you can see, a hammerhead shark. What you can't see is that they are in an open tank with a 3 foot rock wall around it and the sharks were circling around with their top fin out of the water just looking like they were waiting for some innocent small child to fall in.

Standing in front of the dolphin fountain that Levi would have much rather have been swimming in.

Puamana Pool

This is where we spent most of our time.

Makayla liked the water, not quite as much as Levi, but she had fun.

Isn't she adorable?

Levi on the other hand, LOVED the pool. Now for the fun and the scary! The first day we got there we pretty much went from the airplane to the pool and since it was our first day we hadn't had a chance to buy a floaty for Levi so we thought we would just hold him. This went well until Mike stood him up next to the pool and asked him to jump in and instead he began running to the other end of the pool. Mike quickly swam to the other side just in time to catch Levi jumping in. He did this once more to me and since I am not as fast in the water as my husband, Mike had to jump out and run to get him. That was the last time in the pool without a floaty. From then on he had a floaty like the one in the picture. In the water he did an amazing job holding on to it and he was able to kick himself all around the pool. When he got out of the pool we had to make sure he didn't slip it off but most of the time he would climb up the ladder, hold his floaty up and jump off the side. He held his breath and his face went completely underwater every time. He would quickly pop up and repeat this process untill he was to tired and worn out to do so. I was so proud of him and I can't wait to get him back into swim lessons for two reasons; one because he totally loves the water, and two because it is very scary to see him jump in without a floaty when you are not ready and yes this did happen once. Mike was sitting on the side of the pool and Levi was standing right next to him. Mike must have blinked or something but Levi jumped right in to the 8 foot side of the pool, and before I could even yell for Mike to get him he was already in the pool. Levi probably got about 3 feet deep before Mike grabbed him and pulled him out. Levi though had held his breath and came up as happy as ever. So scary for us and unfortunatly Levi didn't even get a little bit scared so he NEEDS to learn how to swim and fast!

oh my goodness, I LOVE makayla's little swimsuits!! how adorable. great pictures, holly!! The kids are just TOO CUTE. :) sounds like Levi's taking after his daddy's passion for the water! Now you just gotta start chucking miniature water polo balls at him and test his reaction time... hehe :)
